| WELCOME TO ROYALS RENDEZVOUS - THE 1871 CLUB The Royals Rendezvous – the 1871 Club was formed over the Christmas-New Year period of 2010-2011. Many of its initial members were regular contributors to the BBC 606 service – alas, no longer in operation – who wished for a more specialized Reading FC orientated forum, whilst maintaining the good spirited type of conversation and banter that the BBC tried to promote. In its first two years of existence, the Royals Rendezvous is achieving outstanding success, with new members signing up continuously, and the member base itself extremely active. Over 500 members, over 70,000 posts is proof enough of the growing role of this specialist Reading FC fans forum web site. It is already recognized in other sporting circles as a major source of news and fan interaction (especially that related to Reading Football club of course), and has a strong and enthusiastic moderation team. Royals Rendezvous has also developed fine relations with many other specialist football forums, especially with teams of our own league. You’re currently viewing our forum as a guest. This means you are limited to certain areas of the board and there are many features you cannot use. However, if you are a fan of another team you are currently allowed to post in “Rivals, but Friends” and the "Other Matches" sections, strictly abiding by the language decency standards that Royals Rendezvous maintains. No aggressive posts, wind-ups or swearing or the post will be edited/deleted. But please read on.... If you join our community you’ll be able to access member-only sections, and use many member-only features such as customizing your profile, sending personal messages to other users, posting your comments and opinions in threads all across our website, signal your appreciation of other people’s posts, be able to vote in polls (there are many polls amongst RR members and often run simultaneously), enter member competitions, and adding your personal material in the Media section, which contains many photographs, newspaper cuttings and other media connected with Reading Football Club, plus the large RR Reference Library of over 160 links and addresses. A thousand miles away, but just round the corner in spirit

So, after West Ham's victory at Leicester City, to top of table now - Pl - Pts 1. Reading 45 89 [Promotion & Champions] 2. Southampton 45 85 (Goal difference + 35) --------------- 3. West Ham 45 83 (Goal Difference + 32) 4. Blackpool 45 74 Therefore, Saints up unless: A) Last game Saints lose and West Ham win B) Saints draw and West Ham win by a clear margin of THREE goals At this point Saints have scored 81 - West Ham 79. Therefore a Saints draw and West Ham win by 3 goals, would leave Hammers on same points as Saints, same goal difference but ONE goal more scored! But a Hammers victory by a 2 goal margin wouldn't be enough - they'd still be one goal difference short of Saints in that eventuality. Last games: Southampton v Coventry City West Ham v Hull City How will it play out? Opinions here ... |

West Ham beat Hull 5-0. However when the final whistle blows at West Ham, Saints are 0-1 down to Coventry with 3 minutes still to play. Lambert takes a shot from 40 yards which is going hopelessly off target until it hits a giant inflatable titanic causing it to end up in the corner of the net. Cameras pan to Allardyce.

Please let it be Saints. After various visits to KUMB, I really dislike everthing about WHU. I know it's not all their fans, but everything about them this season has really brassed me off! |

Southampton cruise to victory with Billy Sharp again scoring in the first 50 seconds. Never in any doubt. |

Can I choose Blackpool? Fingers crossed they both get beaten on Saturday & are both docked 10 points for "Financial Irregularities", Blackpool win their game to take 2nd & Birmingham win the play offs! |

Ugh, if the playoffs consist of Blackpool, Birmingham, Cardiff and West Ham can we just cancel it entirely? I guess Cardiff or Birmingham are the teams I would want to see up.......... |

Hadn't even considered either of theses as being a possibility. [I would take Lallana every day of the week] |
