| WELCOME TO ROYALS RENDEZVOUS - THE 1871 CLUB The Royals Rendezvous – the 1871 Club was formed over the Christmas-New Year period of 2010-2011. Many of its initial members were regular contributors to the BBC 606 service – alas, no longer in operation – who wished for a more specialized Reading FC orientated forum, whilst maintaining the good spirited type of conversation and banter that the BBC tried to promote. In its first two years of existence, the Royals Rendezvous is achieving outstanding success, with new members signing up continuously, and the member base itself extremely active. Over 500 members, over 70,000 posts is proof enough of the growing role of this specialist Reading FC fans forum web site. It is already recognized in other sporting circles as a major source of news and fan interaction (especially that related to Reading Football club of course), and has a strong and enthusiastic moderation team. Royals Rendezvous has also developed fine relations with many other specialist football forums, especially with teams of our own league. You’re currently viewing our forum as a guest. This means you are limited to certain areas of the board and there are many features you cannot use. However, if you are a fan of another team you are currently allowed to post in “Rivals, but Friends” and the "Other Matches" sections, strictly abiding by the language decency standards that Royals Rendezvous maintains. No aggressive posts, wind-ups or swearing or the post will be edited/deleted. But please read on.... Would two go up or two go down?Knowing the greed of the Prem, they might make a point over this which would make it even harder for us to get promoted. |

If Pompey went bust they would cease to exist and all records expunged, hence us with 1 defeat and yet to play them a second time would lose nothing, West Ham would lose 6pts and at the end of the season only 2 teams would relegate. |

Well, sorry, at first I thought this thread was a bit fanciful but maybe it's not so far out at all - because of today's news on BBC Sport - Portsmouth may not have enough money to finish season Portsmouth administrator Trevor Birch has admitted the club may not have enough money to see out the season. Birch addressed fans for an hour at Fratton Park on Wednesday, a day when 30 members of staff were made redundant. However, he says he was left with little choice but to make cuts as he tries to ensure the club's remaining money lasts as long as possible. "We are struggling to make the end of the season," Birch told BBC Solent. Full article and audio interview with administrator: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17137954 |

Although my memories of Portsmouth fans are not particularly good ones, I do feel sorry for them. As for the club I have no sympathy at all. Why should clubs be able to spend so far beyond their means in order to try to achieve success when other clubs are having to do it the hard way. If I spent beyond my means I'd lose what assets I had and have to start again, it should be no different for PFC. The Football league should be getting a commitment NOW from Portsmouth as to whether they will see out the season or not. Could you imagine the chaos it will cause if they pull out with 3 games to go. |

A guy on TS said if just one of their players agreed to go last year they may not be in this mess.instead, because it's in all players contracts that they have to be paid before anything else 33 foot soldiers got the boot.He also said that because they keep going into administration it keeps the creditors from the door and they only will have to pay them a minute per cent again.Crazy state of affairs, the taxman should really try and make an example out of them, they should not be trading still, they are taking the wee wee |
